Karen A Shivers was the founder of United Nosework and was also the first dog and handler team to achieve the Elite Nosework dog title. She owns and operates Tactical K9 & Investigation, a licensed Private Investigation, Detection, Guard Dog and Guard company with the State of Texas. It was Karen’s vision to have a sport called Nosework so that everyone could have as much fun as she did training contraband detection dogs. She contacted UKC and eventually the sport became a recognized titling venue, the first of its kind with a recognized kennel club.
United Nosework offers private instruction for civilian odor detection. We are well versed in both AKC and UKC competition and have licensed judges for both organizations as instructors that have over 12 years experience in detection work. This sport is open to all breeds and all breeds do equally well in this sport.
Essential odors are used as target odors and consist of Birch, Anise, Clove, Myrrh, Vetiver and Cypress.
